Bovada Casino: Now Offering Live Dealer Games

With the addition of live dealers to a casino, you no longer have to choose between a trip to the local casino and an online casino session where you play using software. Live dealers bridge the gap between the two experiences. Unlike online casino games, live dealer games don’t use Random Number Generators, so your gambling session is closer to what you’d get in a land-based casino. Instead of using RNG’s, outcomes are dictated by physical playing cards and roulette wheels. When you play live casino games online, you can chat with the dealer and other players – all from the comfort of home.

What is a Live Casino Online?

A live casino online is an online casino that offers table games with real people acting as croupiers through a live stream. The game outcomes are determined in real time by the physical act of dealing cards and spinning roulette wheels rather than computer software. In order for players to bet seamlessly from their computers and receive payouts, much like they would in a brick and mortar casino, live online casinos use optical character recognition technology to transmit data from the table to the software the players are using – and it’s all in real time.

How Does a Live Dealer Work?

The live dealer is a person who’s stationed at a table in a studio where she operates casino games for you and other players. There will be multiple live dealers in a single casino room, operating different games. Cameramen record the video and stream it in real time, providing players with multiple angles to replicate the experience of a brick and mortar casino.

You can talk with the Dealer and other players through messaging. The dealer will respond by addressing you through the camera, which is streamed live. You may also tip the dealer by dropping a chip on the tipping slot, and she’ll thank you via the live feed.

Live Dealer Casino Games – Why Are They So Popular?

Live Dealer casino games are popular because they do a better job of replicating the location-based casino experience than what you’d get from standard online games. One way they do this is by integrating the social aspect of gambling into their games. While the insulated nature of online gaming suits some players just fine, others like being able to chat with the dealer and other players while playing. Socializing is part of the live dealer experience.

Another way Live Dealer Casinos more accurately replicate location-based casinos is through the use of physical cards, and in the case of roulette, a wooden wheel, to determine the outcomes of rounds. It makes the game feel more authentic than computer software generated outcomes. You also hear the sounds of other table games buzzing around you as you play, creating an immersive casino experience.

The Benefits of Playing at a Live Dealer Casino

The benefits of playing at a Live Dealer Casino depend on what you’re accustomed to: location-based casinos, or online casinos. Players who prefer gambling in brick and mortar casinos will appreciate the absence of Random Number Generators at Live Dealer Casinos. When playing standard online casino games, the outcome of every round is determined by algorithms known as Random Number Generators. For online roulette, you get to watch the ball spin virtually, but this is just for fun. As soon as you hit “Spin,” algorithms calculate the result of the round, telling the ball where to land.

Traditional casino players don’t like the idea of algorithms dictating the results. When you play in a Live Dealer Casino, there’s no software involved. You get to watch the result of the round unroll before your eyes. For roulette, the ball spins around a physical wheel that’s been approved for use in live casinos; the result of the round is determined by the ball’s momentum.

Players who prefer gambling in online casinos will appreciate the unique gambling experience you get with every session of a live dealer game. Online casino players like the flexibility of playing from home, but there’s no denying that sessions can become monotonous if you play the same game over and over again. Live dealer games create unique experiences with every session. There are a variety of different dealers you can select and a multitude of different players sitting at the tables, creating a fresh new experience every time you play.

Overview of Different Live Dealer Game Types

Running a Live Dealer Casino comes with higher overhead costs than a regular online casino. As a result, there aren’t as many gaming options as you’d find in the rest of our casino. But if you like table games, you’re in luck – we have five classic table games available at press time.

Live Dealer Roulette

You can play both American and European Roulette with live dealers at Bovada Casino. With both versions, the dealer will announce when it’s time to place bets, at which point, you simply drag and drop casino chips onto the simulated roulette layout. There’s also a timer on the screen that lets you know exactly how much time you have to place wagers. The live dealer version of roulette has been a big hit, as watching a person spin a roulette wheel is more entertaining than watching an automated one.

Live Dealer Blackjack

You can play Classic Blackjack with a live dealer at Bovada Casino. This version has six decks, with the dealer hitting soft 17 hands, and Blackjack paying 3:2. There are two side bets available over and above the standard betting options: Pairs (11:1 payouts) and Rummy (9:1 payouts). Up to seven people may be seated at each table, with each player being able to occupy two to three seats. Look for the “Seat Open” icons to find an open table. Stakes start at $10 a round.

Live Dealer Baccarat

For $5 minimum bets, you can have a person deal the cards in our live dealer-version of baccarat. Simply place your bet on Banker, Player or Tie. The Banker pays even-money minus a 5% commission, the Player pays even-money, and the Tie pays 8:1.

There’s also a side bet called the Dragon Bonus that pays out when you get a natural (score of 8 or 9) or when you win by 4 or more points. You can win between 1:1 and 30:1 payouts on this supplementary bet.

After bets have been placed, the dealer starts the action by dealing two cards to the Banker and two cards to the Player. A third card may be dealt to either side depending on the score of the first two cards. A baccarat chart outlines the rules for the dealer. This baccarat uses eight decks.

Live Dealer Super 6

Super 6 is a variant of baccarat that uses a six-deck shoe, offers slightly different payouts, and has three side bets over and above the Dragon Bonus side bet. Our live dealers are trained in both standard baccarat and Super 6, so you can have your pick.

  • A live dealer casino is any online casino that uses real people as dealers. They operate in a studio full of casino game stations and video stream the action and results to online players in real time. A Live Dealer Casino aims to replicate the land-based casino experience.
  • From inside a studio, the live dealers operate the casino games like they would in any land-based casino, with real cards and roulette wheels. Cameras film them and use video streaming to offer real time gaming. Everything from the cards they deal to the payouts awarded are coded into data using optical character recognition technology. This creates a seamless betting experience for players. Feel free to chat with the dealers and other players through a messenger. The dealers respond by talking to the camera.
  • Live dealer is available on mobile and tablet, but it requires more data than your typical online casino game. A wi-fi connection is recommended (but not necessary) when playing live dealer games on your phone.
  • All of the major table games you find on the floor of a land-based casino can be found in the Live Casino. This includes Live Blackjack, Live American Roulette, Live European Roulette, Live Baccarat, and Live Super 6.
  • You can ask via live chat and the Live Dealer or the Pitboss will happily answer questions related to the game. However, if you have a question about your account, you should contact customer support directly.
  • Yes! Similar to a land-based casino, you can tip the Live Dealers and they will appreciate this gesture. In fact, the Live Dealers will acknowledge every tip, they will thank the tipper by name, and they will perform a small celebration ritual. Give it a try and tip to see what happens!
  • When there are no seats available at a table or if you simply want to have more action, you can make bets on other players hands by using a feature called back betting.
  • When you join a table, the Live Dealer will greet you and welcome you by your screen name! You can then chat back to the Live Dealer by using the chat box. The live chat box also supports the use of emojis, enabling you to express yourself in many ways!
  • No. You can see the Live Dealer and the game via live streaming video, but the dealer cannot see you. The Live Dealers have a dealer monitor in front of them with information about the game, who is playing, and a chat box so that they can read your messages and reply orally.
  • None of our casino games are rigged, and live dealer is no exception. We are in the business of house edge – not cheating casino players. Every casino game comes with a house edge, and it’s through the house edge that we’re able to operate our business. To see an example of house edge generating profit, take a walk on the Strip in Las Vegas. Now that you know how Live Dealer Casinos work and what games are offered in the Live Dealer section of Bovada Casino, it’s time to try one out and see how you like it. Log in and visit our live dealer versions blackjack, roulette, baccarat or Super 6. The croupiers are looking forward to dealing some cards.
